Holiday Inn, Everett is Awarded Intercontinental Hotel Group's 2006 Renovation Award

Seattle – December 1, 2006 – The Holiday Inn, Everett Hotel has been awarded the prestigious Renovation Award for 2006 from the Intercontinental Hotel Group.

Bellevue businessman Tommy Lu paid $5.6 million for the seven-story, 250-room hotel in the fall of 2004. Previously operated under the Howard Johnson brand, Lu hired local architecture and design firm Degen and Degen to transform the hotel into an award winning executive class property.

The renovated hotel features seven suites and 240 additional guestrooms with amenities including wireless Internet and a free morning newspaper. Common areas include many aspects of feng shui including fresh flowers throughout the lobby and a large fountain off of the front desk. In addition, the hotel offers a full-service restaurant and lounge, indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and 11,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Chambers Group, a Seattle based hospitality management and consulting company, has been involved with the development of the hotel since September of 2004 and managed its renovation and grand-opening.
