Andrew N. Olsen
Managing Director
Andrew Olsen brings with him over thirty years of varied experience in the hospitality and leisure time industries. Prior to co-founding The Chambers Group, Inc., he served as Director of Management Advisory Services at Laventhol & Horwath for the Pacific Norhtwest Region which included Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, & Western Canada. His background includes market research and financial analysis for hotel and resort development, rooms and food and beverage management, purchasing, cost control, and sales and marketing. Early in his career, Mr. Olsen held management positions with national hotel companies including Westin Hotels & Resorts, and Hilton Hotels Corporation. His areas of consulting specialization include:
- Evaluation of project feasibility and preparation of prospective financial performance of hotel, resort and related real estate projects
- Valuation and appraisal of hotel, resort and restaurant projects
- Market analysis and evaluation
- Due diligence for acquisition and lending
- Receivership and trusteeship
- Operational analysis for resort, hotel and restaurant facilities
- Shopping services and facility evaluation
- Management and affiliation investigations for hotel and resort projects
- Expert witness testimony
Mr. Olsen has been actively involved in feasibility, financial analysis, and valuation of mixed-use, resort, hotel and restaurant projects. He has recently conducted assignments and analysis in Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Ohio, Utah, Montana, Texas, Belize, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and the Federated States of Micronesia.
Mr. Olsen has been an adjunct faculty member at the Washington State University School of Hotel Business Management and he has taught Finance and Internal Control for the University’s Hospitality Management Professional Development Program. He serves on the Advisory Board for Washington State University’s SCHRA program.
Mr. Olsen is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Washington State Hotel & Motel Association, and is a member of the Oregon Lodging Association, and the Cornell Hotel Society.
Mr. Olsen received his B.S. degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
